Melbourne’s Best Photoshoot Locations for Minimalist Interior Brands

Choosing the right photoshoot location is crucial for your next campaign or marketing project. The feeling, the colours and the mood of a space can make or break how your brand connects with its audience. A plain white, light-filled studio works for e-commerce shots once people are already familiar with your brand - but how do you grab attention in the first place? How do you make them pause their scroll while staying true to your brand identity? Think of it as the top of your marketing funnel: this is where you capture interest, spark desire… and start building trust.

Having worked as a photographer in Melbourne with interior brands for the past few years, I’ve discovered a range of locations that do exactly that. In this mini blog series, I’ll share spaces tailored to different industries and styles. For now, here are some of my favourites and why they work so well for minimalist interior brands.

what I look for when scouting spaces for minimalist interior photography:

  • Fabulous natural light. Soft shadows and even light make interiors feel airy and editorial.

  • Neutral backdrops. Light coloured walls light timbers and stone allow your furniture, products and styling to pop.

  • Textural interest. Subtle details like microcement, plaster or linens add depth without clutter.

  • Flexible layout. Enough space to style vignettes or showcase larger interior elements.

  1. Luxe Contemporary Home

Why it works:
The clean lines and abundant natural light is what intially drew me in to this property. Its neutral backdrops provide a versatile canvas, while design details - like the sunken lounge, the living room shelving, modern shower design, and stone stairs - create visual interest and so many photo opportunities throughout the space.

Key features:
+ Light-filled open-plan living zones
+ The depth and visual interest of the sunken lounge, this isn’t common
+ Flexible layout for wide-angle and detail shots
+ Great location!

2. La Casa Curvilínea

Why it works:
I’ve shot here for a mirror brand (yes, big full-length mirrors!) and it was a dream. The space is generous, and the textures and finishes throughout the home catch the light beautifully. The curved architecture, diffused natural light and warm, neutral palette create so many opportunities for fabulous imagery. So many angles feel editorial-ready, without the need for heavy styling.

Key Features:
+ Sculptural curved architecture
+ Abundant natural light and a beautiful skylight
+ Generous kitchen bench space, perfect for styling or product shoots
+ Backs onto a golf course, for unobstructed exterior shots
+ So many light-filled moments through the large windows and sheer curtains

3. FiveNTwo Studio

Why it works:
The industrial white brick walls, high ceilings, large floor space and large cyclorama make this studio incredibly versatile. I’ve shot here on Melbourne’s sunniest days AND on those classic overcast ones - the light always works beautifully. It’s ideal for editorial, polished lifestyle, or product photography with lots of space to add your own styling.

Key Features:
+ Cyclorama next to a large roller door
+ Very tall ceilings for expansive shots
+ Flexible, open layout for a variety of shoot styles
+ Works in all lighting conditions: bright sun or overcast

4. Studio Noon

Why it works:
Studio Noon is light-filled with high ceilings, clean white walls and moveable backdrops, making it incredibly flexible. The roller doors flood the space with natural light, so shoots work beautifully regardless of Melbourne’s weather.

Key Features:
+ High ceilings and clean white walls
+ Moveable backdrops for versatile styling
+ Small space
+ Beautiful plinths and multiple chair options for styling
